The Secret Law of Attraction – How to apply it to your online business

the secret law of attraction
How to get what you really want….whether it is your marriage partner, dream home, ideal business or good health?

This is the power of “The Secret“, a movie I watched with my family recently (it’s also a book) that shows you how to apply the law of attraction to your life.

How was The Secret discovered?

Rhonda Byrne’s discovery of The Secret began with a glimpse of the truth through a 100 year old book. She went back through centuries, tracing and uncovering a common truth that lay at the core of the most powerful philosophies, teachings and religions in the world.

What is The Secret?

Here are some of the main points I gleaned from watching the movie:

1. You are what you think

You attract whatever you are thinking or feeling. If you’re feeling good about something you’ll attract good things, if you feel negative about something you’ll attract negative emotions and thoughts.

Example
“Today I will finish this project” will attract positive energy to get the project finished.

“Today I probably won’t finish this project” will attract negative energy resulting in not getting the project completed.

2. Visualize what you want

Create a picture in your mind about what you desire. Make it as clear as possible. Write it down on paper, draw a picture or take a photo of it and keep it near your computer so you won’t forget about it. Practice visualizing what you want everyday.

3. What you don’t want attracts what you don’t want

Example
If you say to yourself “I will never get healed from this sickness” you’ll attract negative energy that won’t help you get healed.

4. Be grateful

Be grateful for even the small things, ie blade of grass, wind on your face, food you eat, family members, friends, etc. Don’t focus on what you don’t have.

5. Visualize a beautiful place to go to in your mind

When life gets rough visit that beautiful place in your mind, meditate on it. It will give you peace and tranquility and cause negative thoughts to disappear while being grateful for what you have.

6. Everything is energy

If you breakdown everything (animate and inanimate objects), you find they all consist of atoms which consist of energy. This means everything contains energy. The positive or negative energy you project influences the universe. By thinking or feeling in a positive manner you attract the positive forces of the universe to help you get what you want.

7. Apply “The Secret” to your online business

Visualize what you want to achieve with your business then create a plan to make it happen.

Example
Visualize the dream house you want to buy with your business profits. Draw or take a picture of it and place it in the location where you’ll see it everyday. This will remind you why you are working so hard.

You’ll need to set a monetary goal then create a simple business plan for how to achieve your goal.

Tip

Applying the law of attraction will help you achieve a positive mindset each day and lead you to prosperity.

Let me know your experiences or thoughts on “The Secret” by leaving a comment in the box below.

People visit online forums to ask questions or leave comments about their specific topic. Join in the conversation by answering questions or adding a valuable comment.

Upload Files With Forms

How do you make it easy for clients to upload artwork files with forms?

upload files with forms

My client creates Challenge Coins for his customers. He wanted his clients to be able to upload artwork from their computer when submitting the request a quote form from his web site. The artwork files are usually sent as .jpg. .gif, .png files.

This means his clients won’t have to send their artwork in a separate email plus it saves them time. The client simply browses to the file on their computer and submits the form.

To upload a file with a form, two things are required.

1. The attribute enctype=”multipart/form-data” in the form tag to tell the browser what type of data is coming.

2. A type=”file” form field so the form user can specify the file to upload.

Steps to create the form

1. Install and configure Master Form V4

How to Create Multiple Flash Slide Shows on the Same Page

Have you ever wanted to add several flash slide shows to the same page but had no idea how to do it?

In 2007 I wrote an article on How to Create a Flash Slide Show. If you read the comments you’ll see some people ran into problems with it.

Recently a client asked to create 3 flash slide shows on his photography web site.

Here’s what I did:

1. Download the JV image rotator zip file to your computer and unzip the files.

2. Add the files and photos to your web site

imagerotator.swf
index.html
imagerotator.xml
swfobject.js
video.flv

Note: I placed the images in a separate folder called “Images”. If you do this make sure you have the correct file paths in the .xml file as shown below.

3. Edit the imagerotator.xml file so that it contains URLs of your images. Add more photos, by pasting additional track blocks in the .xml file.

Example XML Code for 1 silde show

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>
<playlist version="1" xmlns="http://xspf.org/ns/0/">
<trackList>
<track> <location>http://www.pboonisar.com/Images/RF-PC-1.jpg</location>
</track>

<track> <location>http://www.pboonisar.com/Images/RF-PC-2.jpg</location>
</track>

<track> <location>http://www.pboonisar.com/Images/RF-PC-3.jpg</location>
</track>

<track> <location>http://www.pboonisar.com/Images/RF-PC-4.jpg</location>
</track>
</playlist>

4. Here’s the script code I used to create 3 flash shows on the same web page

<div id="container1"><a href="http://www.macromedia.com/go/getflashplayer">Get the Flash Player</a> to see this rotator.</div>
<p>
  <script type="text/javascript" src="flash/swfobject.js"></script>
  <script type="text/javascript">
var s1 = new SWFObject("flash/imagerotator.swf","rotator","216","162","7");
s1.addParam("allowfullscreen","false");
s1.addVariable("file","flash/panama.xml");
s1.addVariable("width","216");
s1.addVariable("height","162");
s1.write("container1");
</script>

<div id="container2"><a href="http://www.macromedia.com/go/getflashplayer">Get the Flash Player</a> to see this rotator.</div>
<script type="text/javascript">
var s2 = new SWFObject("flash/imagerotator.swf","rotator","216","162","7");
s2.addParam("allowfullscreen","false");
s2.addVariable("file","flash/airforce.xml");
s2.addVariable("width","216");
s2.addVariable("height","162");
s2.write("container2");
</script>
</td>

<div id="container3"><a href="http://www.macromedia.com/go/getflashplayer">Get the Flash Player</a> to see this rotator.</div>
<script type="text/javascript">
var s3 = new SWFObject("flash/imagerotator.swf","rotator","216","162","7");
s3.addParam("allowfullscreen","false");
s3.addVariable("file","flash/scenic.xml");
s3.addVariable("width","216");
s3.addVariable("height","162");
s3.write("container3");
</script>

Tip
To embed the JW Image Rotator multiple times in the same page you simply need to use a separate xml file for each slide and make sure to use a separate slideshow ID for each.

Google AdWords – How to Create a Profitable Campaign on a Low Budget

It’s very easy to spend large amounts of money on your Google AdWords campaign if you don’t plan a budget. If you only have a few hundred dollars to invest each month begin with a small budget ie $1/day. You always have the option to increase it if you want to spend more.

Example

If you only want to spend a $1/day ($30/month) on a campaign, look for inexpensive keywords. For example if your cost per click (CPC) is 10 cents you can receive up to 10 clicks per day or 300 per month. This is enough clicks to determine if the campaign will be profitable.

If your CPC is $1.00 you only need 1 click (or 30 clicks per month at $30.00) to reach your daily budget. You won’t have enough clicks to judge whether the campaign will be profitable so you’ll have to run it over 3 months to receive 100 clicks. This may be too long to wait therefore select keywords with a low CPC.

Strategies for creating profitable campaigns on a low budget

1. Research keywords your competitors aren’t using

Select a product then do extensive keyword research on it to find the keywords your competitors haven’t discovered. These may include misspelled words, negative keywords and combinations of keywords.

If you can’t find alternative keywords, use the same ones as your competitors but select a different product. You’ll avoid competing with them for the same item.

2. Create multiple low budget campaigns

Not every Google AdWords campaign is profitable. In fact only a few will generate enough profits. By observing data from running several low budget campaigns simultaneously, you’ll quickly see which ones have the potential to be profitable.

3. Track each campaign

Tracking your keywords allows you to see which ones generated the sales. I use the ad tracking software AdTrackz to track my keywords.

Conclusion

Creating multiple campaigns with a low daily budget prevents you from quickly spending all your money in a few days. It helps you to tweak the data you’ve collected over a long period so your campaigns will become profitable.

Video Marketing – How to Create and Upload Videos to Increase Backlinks, Rankings and Web Traffic

Looking for a highly effective way to attract more visitors to your web site?

Online videos are common place now and many marketers are using them to boost their web traffic. My last article discussed the top 10 benefits of video marketing. Let’s now discuss how it can be done.

1. Create your video

Use a video camera (or digital camera if you don’t have one) to record your movie. Make sure your camera is steady so you won’t get jerky motions. Have plenty of light (natural is better) in the background so your subjects are well illuminated.

If you’re creating a slide show using Windows Movie Maker then you don’t even need a camera. Alternatively create your slides in Power point or Open Office Impress then capture screen shots with Camtasia.

2. Editing your video

Before uploading your video for public consumption, check for any errors then edit them or redo the movie until you’re satisfied with it. If using windows movie maker you can edit the movie within it. Save the file in MOV or AVI format

3. Upload your video

Create an account on You Tube or other video sharing sites then upload your video. It will take a few minutes to upload. Be sure to write a descriptive paragraph to attract lots of viewers. Include a link back to your web site. This will help boost your backlinks.

4. Distribute to multiple web sites

Not all people only visit You Tube to watch videos. There are many others which are visited also. Here is a list of the top 10 video sharing web sites:

YouTube
Metacafe
Break
Google Video
Dailymotion
Yahoo! Video
Revver
vidiLife
Stickam
ZippyVideos

Read Where to Upload Your Videos

Tip
Like article submission the key to attracting lots of traffic with videos is to do it consistently. Make a schedule to create and distribute a video once a week to begin with. Once you get faster and more comfortable with it increase your volume. You’ll see a nice boost in backlinks, rankings and web traffic.

Video Marketing Benefits – Top 10

How many videos have you viewed online in the past year?

Video marketing has come of age on the internet and will increase dramatically over the next few years as technology becomes more advanced. Web capable phones such as the iPhone are becoming very popular therefore it’s time for you to start creating videos to attract more visitors and boost online sales before you fall behind.

Top 10 benefits of video marketing

1. Appeal to a larger audience

Not all your visitors prefer to receive content in text format. Many prefer to only watch a video or read, watch and listen at the same time.

2. Avoid duplicate content penalty

The problem with written content is you have to keep writing new articles to increase backlinks, search engine rankings and draw visitors back to your web site. Creating a video out of an article resolves the duplicate content issue because search engines index them differently.

3. Get more traffic

YouTube currently gets more traffic than Google. By producing lots of videos from your articles you capitalize on this opportunity. You can multiply this traffic by uploading your video to other video sharing sites. ie

Yahoo! Video
Google Video
Blip.tv
Facebook
Metacafe
Dailymotion

Read Where to upload your videos

4. Gain top search engine rankings

Currently not many marketers are using videos to get their web site ranked on the first page of the search engine results pages. If you add videos to your marketing mix you can achieve top rankings in your niche.

Example
If you enter “how to drive a car” in the Google search box several of the top search results display videos.

5. Viral marketing

If you create valuable video your visitors love, they’ll share it with there friends on myspace, twitter, facebook, etc. The viral effect of doing this will increase visitors to your web site exponentially.

6. Inexpensive

You can use the software that’s already on your computer to edit, convert and upload videos to video sharing web sites. The only major expense is the video camera however you can just use your digital camera as most include video capture capabilities.

7. Become recognized as an expert

Since there aren’t many web site owners using video to market their web sites, you can easily become recognized as an expert in your field by producing lots of videos.

8. Increase the stickiness of your web site

Most visitors scan the content of a web site spending little time on it unless they find something captivating. Video engages the senses more than text thus keeping them longer on your web site. This helps build long term relationships with your visitors (especially if you make the video personal) which leads to more sales.

9. Branding

Building your brand helps your business to become to “go to” location for information in your field. If you’re the only one in your niche using video marketing it will help brand your business.

10. Build trust

The internet is often seen as an impersonal place where it’s hard to trust anybody as there are online scammers and site owners often don’t provide contact information. A video offers your visitors a very personal touch that helps remove the fear of doing business with you.

Now go ahead and create and upload lots of videos and you’ll see these 10 benefits come into fruition.
