I would have liked to see some ideas on developing good topics for newsletters or maybe some suggestions on services that would do this for you. Maybe that is another topic altogether. All in all though a great article. Some people may want to know there is a drupal newsletter module that helps with the auto responder thing. It is also configurable to allow others to manage your lists for you as well. Kind a handy tool.
