Congratulations on achieving 1,000 YouTube subscribers.
If you also achieved 4,000 public watch hours in the past 12 months, you’ll be able to monetize your channel and start generating a passive income.
In the video below, I’ll show you all the features that will now be available to you so you can grow and make money from your channel.

One of the first things that happens to you when you get 1,000 subscribers on YouTube is you get a congratulatory email from YouTube and you get an announcement on your YouTube dashboard.
Claim a custom URL for your YouTube channel.
Instead of having a bunch of numbers and letters in your YouTube URL, which makes it hard to remember and hard to spell, you can claim a custom URL. For example, the name of my channel is Drost Video. I claimed the custom URL youtube.com/drostvideo. You only need 100 subscribers to claim a custom URL, but if you haven’t done it, do it now.

Mobile live streaming.
You only need 50 subscribers to begin live streaming on YouTube from your mobile phone, but if you’re still under 1,000 subscribers, you’ll be restricted on the number of viewers that can appear on your mobile live stream. What happens after you get 1,000 subscribers?
After reaching 1,000 subscribers, it may take several weeks for YouTube to remove the audience limitation for mobile live streaming. If your subscriber count decreases during this time, it may take a little longer. Keep working on growing your channel. Keep in mind, you can also live stream from your computer or using a webcam.
If you live stream from your computer, you don’t need 1,000 subscribers. One of the biggest benefits of live streaming is you can make a deeper connection with your audience and also achieve 4,000 public watch hours quickly and easily. If you’ve achieved the goal of 1,000 subscribers, but you still need 4,000 public watch hours
I highly recommend doing live streaming once a week. Do a test live on private or unlisted before you go public.
Super Chat and Super Stickers.
Super Chat and Super Stickers are a great way to connect with fans during your live chat sessions. When they purchase a Super Chat, the message is highlighted and bumped to the top of the chat session so it’s easy to see amongst all the other chat messages.
Viewers can also purchase Super Stickers, which is a digital or animated image that pops up in the live chat session. The eligibility requirements for Super Chat and Super Stickers is that your YouTube channel must be monetized, which means you must have 1,000 subscribers and 4,000 watch hours, and also be over the age of 18. It’s a great way to generate some extra income from your YouTube channel.
Channel memberships.
Channel memberships are a great way to generate a monthly income from your YouTube channel. Viewers can support your channel by making monthly payments and get members-only perks like badges, emojis, and other goods.

Community Tab.
The Community tab is a great way to interact with your subscribers on the days that you’re not uploading videos to your channel. Community posts can include polls, GIFs, text, images, and videos. They always appear on the Community tab, and they also appear on the home and subscriptions feed. Typically, I’ll use community posts to tap into the mind of my target audience by adding polls and asking questions. This helps me to decide what kind of content I should create in my future videos that my audience would be interested in.
The eligibility requirements for community posts used to be 1,000 subscribers, but now it’s only 500 subscribers. Make sure that you’re using this feature on a regular basis. It’s also a great way to share your latest videos with your YouTube community.
Ad revenue.
The beauty of monetizing YouTube channel and displaying AdSense ads on your YouTube videos is that you can generate a passive income every month. If you’ve achieved 1,000 subscribers but you still haven’t achieved 4,000 public watch hours in the past 12 months, then work towards accomplishing that goal as fast as possible. Even if you haven’t achieved those 4,000 watch hours yet, make sure you create an AdSense account and link it to your YouTube account.
After your channel has been reviewed and approved for monetization, make sure you enable monetization for all the videos on your channel so you can start generating revenue from it.
Keep in mind, videos that are over eight minutes can have multiple ad breaks throughout the video. This will enable you to earn more from longer videos, but also keep in mind, you don’t want to turn off your viewers by putting too many ads in your videos. YouTube tends to promote videos that keeps viewers watching for a longer period of time or watching multiple videos in a row.
