This featured channel trailer video only appears to non-subscribers when they visit your YouTube channel homepage. If I click the subscribe button, then refresh the page, a new featured video appears to returning subscribers. These are viewers that have already subscribed to my channel.

I found that if you feature a video on your channel homepage, you’ll get more views on that video. I
In the last 28 days, this video received 1,765 views.
“Wow, Herman, how do you do that?”
- Make sure you’re logged in to your YouTube channel,
- click your profile icon,
- click YouTube Studio,
- click Customization.
- Under Layout, you have channel trailer for people who haven’t subscribed,
- you have featured video for returning subscribers,
- you also have ‘Featured sections’ where you can show a playlist on your channel homepage.
I’ve already shown you the featured video for my non-subscribers.
- Click the three dots that says Options,
- click ‘Change video’.
- You can select a video from your channel or you can select any video that’s on YouTube.
- I’m going to select this video. Now I have a new video, YouTube Email Notifications Not Working – How To Fix,
- click Publish.
- Let’s check my YouTube channel homepage. I’m going to log in to a different account,
- Click ‘Switch account’. Now you can see I’ve got a new video that displays to returning subscribers.
If you want to attract more subscribers to your YouTube channel don’t just use a channel trailer that gets very few subscribers. Instead, choose a video from your YouTube channel that you know is attracting a lot of subscriber.
Here’s how to find that video.
- Click Analytics,
- click See More.
- Now you can see which videos attracted the most subscribers in the last 28 days. You can change this to the Last 7 days, 90 days, 365 days, or Lifetime.
- I recommend choosing Last 90 days. As you can see, these videos attracted the most subscribers in the last 90 days.
This video attracted almost 500 new subscribers in the last 90 days, so that’s why I’ve chosen this video.
Here’s how to add your channel trailer to your channel homepage.
- Make sure you’re logged in to your YouTube channel,
- click your profile icon,
- click YouTube Studio,
- click Customization. I’ve already chosen the video that attracts most subscribers to my channel.
- If you want to change this, just click the three dots that says Options.
- I can remove the video or change the video. I
- ‘m going to click Change.
- I can select from any of these videos that are displayed on this page.
- I can also enter a keyword to find specific videos on my channel.
- For this example, I’m going to enter ‘slideshow’. I’ve got three videos here that continually attract views and subscribers. T
- his third one, How To Make a Slideshow, currently has 48,600 views, so I click on that. Now, I’ve added that video as a channel trailer to my homepage.
- Click Publish.
- Let’s check my channel homepage by logging in to a different account.
- I click my drop-down, click ‘Switch account’.
- Now you can see I’ve got a different channel trailer than my original one.
