Outsourcing – How to Outsource Your Article Marketing

Outsourcing your article writing helps you be more efficient, cut costs, compete with large companies and frees up time to work on the core tasks of your business. Outsourcing to any company would be a mistake. You may not get what you expect and lose time and money.

How to find an outsourcing company

Visit forums, blogs or search engines

Enter “keyword+forum” in Google to find forums related to your keyword topic. Do the same for blogs. These places often include a section to post your request. Ask the moderators of the forum for referrals. They may know of a stay-at-home Mom with professional writing skills that wants to earn some extra money.

Here are some other areas to visit:

need-an-article.net
Elance.com
Guru.com
Craigslist.com
Trafficassistants.com (article submissions)

How to qualify your outsourcing candidates

1. Select several candidates

Using the list above, send your request to a number of candidates then monitor
responses to these questions:

– How knowledgeable are you on this topic?
– Do you have any samples you can send me?
– What is the turn around time for a 500 word article?
– Do I have exclusive rights to the article?
– What are your prices?

This allows you to select the best candidate for writing your articles.

2. Contact them by phone or email

You get a good idea how efficient and knowledgeable they are by asking the right questions by phone. If you don’t get a good feeling move on to the next company.

If you can’t contact them by phone (they may live outside the country) send them an email with the questions.

3. Establish a firm deadline

You are a busy person. You don’t want to waste time chasing your candidates. If they are unable to make the deadline select another candidate.

4. Monitor your articles for copyright infringement

Some unscrupulous article writers will copy or plagiarize other people’s content. This gets you banned from article directories because you submitted duplicate content. All content on the web is copyright protected. This means it is illegal to copy content and use it as your own without giving credit to the original author.

Tip

Check the articles you outsource by entering them in copyscape.com. If they do not pass the test, hire someone else to write your articles. When you receive the article from your ghostwriter, create a simple web page, upload it to your server, then enter the URL in copyscape.com You will see immediately if the content has been duplicated. If so, you should not submit it for distribution because it will be rejected.

Part 2

6. Repetition

Don’t repeat the same information in another sentence or paragraph. It makes the information redundant. Be sure to proof read your document before submitting it for publication. Read it aloud or get someone else to read it to you. If it sounds strange, it probably is.

7. Grammar and Spelling errors

You’ll appear to be a novice at article writing if it’s filled with grammatical, spelling or punctuation errors. Don’t just use the spell checker because it does not pick up everything. Clean up these errors before distributing it.

8. Plagarism

Copying someones elses content violates copyright laws. All content on the Net is copyright protected. This means it belongs to the original author. Only write unique content. It will be more interesting to read and attract more traffic.

9. Excessive length

Long articles (1000 words plus) get read less than short articles (under 750 words) because it’s hard to keep the reader’s attention. Writers often pad the content with filler words when the same points can be made in a shorter article.

10. Targeting wrong audience

Articles should be tailored to a specific audience. Address their needs, wants and desires. Don’t write for online marketers if your audience is offline retailers. They won’t know what you’re talking about.

11. No formatting

Proper formatting makes your article more appealing. Most article directories include a visual html editor. This enables you to bold text, create bullet points, add line breaks and include URLs. If you email the article to ezine publishers reduce sentences to 65 characters per line so sentences don’t get cut off in readers email software.

12. Inadequate Resource Box

You have one chance to promote yourself to your readers by including the resource box at the end of your article. You’ve worked hard writing a high quality article therefore create a highly effective resource box. At the very least, include your full name, web site address and call to action.
