If you’re not currently using YouTube Info Cards in your videos you’re missing out on a large chunk of your audience. That’s because cards they work across all devices including mobile phones.
Here are the Top 5 Ways To Use YouTube Info Cards In Your Videos

1. Associated website
- Login to your YouTube channel
- Click the profile icon
- Click “Creator studio”
- Click on “Video Manager”
- Select the video that you wish to add a YouTube card to
- Click edit
- Click on Cards
- Click “Add card”
- Now you can select an associated website. This could be a landing page, fundraising site, merchandise site, video or playlist.
- First we’ll try the associated website so click create
- Enter your associated website URL
- Add a title, call to action and teaser text
- You can also upload an image (ie my free report)
- Click “create card” and you’ll see the teaser text at the top of your video
2. Fundraising
- Click on Cards
- Click “Add card”
- Click “Create”
- Select Fundraising
- Put your fundraising project URL in the box
- In this case I’ll use GoFundMe.com and here you’ll see the title
- Add a call to action which can be “learn more”
- Add the teaser text
- You can also upload an image
- Click create card”
- Now I’ve got “please donate card” at the top of the video
3. Merchandise
- Click on Cards
- Click “Add card”
- Click “Create”
- Select Merchandise
- Click “create”
- So with merchandise you can link to a product or store or one of the supported merchandise sites so click the link that says “approved retailers and example links”
- I selected “Gumroad”
- Add your call to action
- Add the teaser text
- Click “create card”
- Now you’ll see the teaser text at the top of the video “click here to buy now”
4. Video
- Click “add card”
- Select Video
- Click create
- Select from any of the videos you’ve uploaded
- Select the video
- Click create card
- Add the teaser text (YouTube cards – the new mobile-friendly annotations)
- Now you’ll see the teaser text at the top of the video.
5. Playlist
- Click “add card”
- Click “create”
- Select playlists…or you can add a URL in the box below
- Click “create card”
- Add the teaser text (how to edit videos on YouTube) for the playlist
- Now you’ll see the teaser text at the top of the video.
- Click…”Play All” and you’ll be able to play all the videos in the playlist
You can add up to 5 cards a specific video however I would suggest only adding one or 2 and to make it more effective try spacing them out on the timeline.
