How To Get Your Website On Google..Fast

Many new website owners believe that once they’ve got their site built it magically will appear in Google and the other search engines for keywords related to their industry. This kind of expectation is usually derived from reading or hearing rumors but not understanding the facts.

The only way to get your website listed or indexed by Google is through links because the web works through websites that are linked to each other. So if you’ve registered a brand new domain name and designed a new website it will only get found on Google if another site that is already on Google links to it.

So what are some of the fastest ways to get your website on Google?

1. Find a website that’s already on Google to link to your site

Search for a popular website or blog related to your niche and offer them something of value in exchange for a link back to your site. It could be a blog post or article where you include a link to your website at the end of the content.

2. Create a forum profile

Find a popular forum where conversations are being held related to the topics on your website and sign up to create a forum profile. Most forums allow you to add a link to your site in your forum signature. Engage in forum conversations by asking questions or responding to comments. Each time you leave a comment your link will be included in the forum signature.

3. Submit content to article directories

The top article directories receive millions of visitors each day. When you submit an article to them they allow you to include a resource box at the end of your article. Since authors are constantly adding new articles every day the content get’s indexed almost immediately by Google.

Write a 500 word article based on the content on your website then submit to one or more top article directories making sure you include your bio at the end of the content. This will enable Google to quickly find and index your website.

4. Submit a site map to Google Webmaster Tools

Google offers a service called Google Webmaster Tools to speed up the indexing of your website. It provides a piece of code you upload to your server. The site map contains all the main pages of your site enabling Google’s search engine spider to crawl from one link to the other.

5. Submit to the Yahoo Directory or Open Directory Project

These are 2 of the largest directories on the Net however it costs $299.00/year (last time I checked) to submit to the Yahoo Directory. Submitting to the Open Directory Project (DMOZ.org) is still free however there’s no guarantee you’ll get listed even if you wait for years. The upside of getting listed on these directories is that they have great authority. If your website gets listed it will not only get indexed by the all the major search engines but receive a boost in rankings.

6. Include a link in your YouTube description

YouTube is the second largest or most popular search engine on the Net. Millions of new videos are uploaded to it every day therefore getting a backlink from YouTube means your site will be rapidly indexed.

Every time you upload a video make sure you create a catchy title and a well written description. Include the full address of your website a the beginning, middle and end of your description then save the changes.

7. Create link worthy content

Since “Content is King” on the net get into the habit of constantly creating new content that solves people’s problems then share it on social media sites such as Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn and Google Plus. When others see the value of your content they’ll naturally share it with their friends by linking to it.
