Increasing the number of subscribers to your YouTube channel helps boost your rankings in YouTube and the search engines. Google (the owner of YouTube) gives more authority to channels that have tons of subscribers and who consistently add new videos to build a community. They want their web property to be the “go to” place for online users plus it helps them generate higher profits for their advertisers.
Here are 7 ways to gain more subscribers to your YouTube channel
Annotations
1. Subscribe box
YouTube allows you to add a subscribe box containing a link to your channel after you’ve uploaded your video. You have the option to use a note box, bubble, change colors, fonts and position it anywhere within your video. Add a subscribe box at the beginning, middle and end of your video to give them multiple opportunities to subscribe.
Subscribe box + Overlay
If you don’t like the boxes YouTube creates for you, create your own professional image and overlay it with a “spotlight” annotation that links to your channel. Viewers can now subscribe to your channel by clicking on the image within your video.
2. Associated website
Just telling viewers to subscribe to your channel within your video may not motivate them enough to subscribe. An alternative method is to redirect them to a landing page that lists the benefits of subscribing.
This can be accomplished with the “associated website” annotation. First you must enable the monetization feature within your YouTube manager. Secondly you need to verify the website you’ll be redirecting viewers to. Thirdly, select “associated website” from the drop down annotation’s box and enter the URL to your landing page ie domain.com/landingpage. Fourthly, make sure you include the URL to your channel on the landing page.
3. Add subscribe buttons to your website
YouTube offers a number of different buttons and icons to add to your website by downloading them from creator’s corner. Make sure you are logged into your YouTube account before copying and pasting the code into your website otherwise the image won’t link to your channel.
4. Add a YouTube widget to your website
Encourage website visitors to subscribe to your channel directly from your web pages. Embed the widget by copying the html code below and pasting it into your web page or blog post. Be sure to replace “addYouTube username here” with your own username.
<iframe id=â€fr†src=â€http://www.youtube.com/subscribe_widget?p=[add YouTube Username here]†style=â€overflow: hidden; height: 105px; width: 300px; border: 0;†scrolling=â€no†frameBorder=â€0″></iframe>

5. Create a promo video
Create a promotional video outlining all the benefits of subscribing to your YouTube channel then link to it within your video. This means your viewers will stay engaged longer (which helps rankings) and they’ll be better informed as to why they should subscribe.
6. Offer an incentive
Often times it’s not compelling enough to just ask people to subscriber. Motivate them to take action by offering a free ebook or short report that provides solutions to some of the biggest problems they’re facing in their niche.
7. Subscribe to other channels in the YouTube community
Don’t just ask people to subscribe to your own channel. Build a community by subscribing to channels related to your own niche. Interact with them by commenting and liking their videos. This will encourage them to do the same for you.
Note:
When linking to your YouTube channel always use this exact format:
http://www.youtube.com/user/isitebuild
Always include “user” in your channel URL.
Whenever you add a call to action in your video, tell them what to do, how to do it, and why they should do it.
