How to create a Facebook Ad in less than 3 minutes

1. Know your purpose and goal

Don’t make the mistake of creating an ad without understanding why you are doing it and what your desired result will be.

In this example your goal is to get people to like your fan page (page likes)so you can post offers or collect subscribers. Every time someone likes your page from your ad your Facebook posts will appear in their Newsfeed.

2. Create your ad
page likes

  • Log in to your Facebook account or visit facebook.com/advertising
  • Click “Create An Ad”
  • Select the results you want for your ads (page likes)

3. What kind of results do you want for your ads?

  • Enter the URL you wish to promote (Facebook Page)

page likes

4. Select images

Upload 6 different images. This will generate 6 new ads however it enables you to quickly see which ad (image) performs the best.

The best size image to upload is 1200×627 pixels with a minimum width of 600 pixels for images appearing in News Feed. Depending on what type of ad you’re creating, there also may be a recommended image size in the Ads Product Guide.

If the image is larger or smaller than the dimensions specified, it will automatically be resized.

Tip: If you click “find images” you can select free images from shutter stock.

5. Edit Text and Links

  • Create a headline
  • Enter your ad description
  • Check “sponsored stories

You can choose automatic or manual bid pricing.
Select “automatic” to allow Facebook to optimize your bids since this is what they do best.

  • Click “review order” to check Facebook is displaying your ad correctly
  • If not, you can easily edit your ad

10. Place Your Order

11. Monitor the performance of your ad campaign

page likes

Monitor the performance of your ad every few hours using the Ads Manager tool. You’ll be able to see the number of “page likes” you’ve received and how much you’re paying for each like.

You always have the option to edit your ad or create a new one.. After a day or 2 you’ll know which image receives the most likes and highest CTR (click through rate). Once you know this pause the other 5 ads so your campaign is optimized for the best performing ad.
