How to Find Niche Products to Sell Online

How to find niche products

Sometimes I watch the QVC channel to observe the latest products being sold. As the hosts talk about the product you can watch a counter on your TV screen showing the number of people purchasing the product..often surpassing hundreds within a few minutes. My wife sometimes chimes in and says ” if you could only find or invent a product like that we’d be millionaires.”

If you were Alexander Graham Bell (who invented the telephone) you’d have a product that everybody wanted however nowadays it seems like all the products have already been created. This is not true because new products are being created all the time.

How to Find Niche Products to Sell Online

1. Sell affiliate products

Selling affiliate products relieves you of the tasks of creating your own. You won’t have to worry about inventory, customer service, updating your products or even building a website or setting up a payment system. It’s all taken care of. All you have to do is promote the products and cash the checks. It’s a great way to start an online business with little investment.

2. Offer products with your service-based business

If you have a successful service-based business, why not offer products that your customers need. These can be either affiliate products or your own products. The beauty of creating your own products is that you keep 100% of the profits. With affiliate products you only receive commissions.

Example
I have been running a successful Web Design business in Maryland for over 10 years and have written 2 ebooks titled “101 Highly Effective Strategies to Promote Your Web Site” and “Article Marketing Strategies

I have supplemented my main income by creating an alternative passive income stream.

3. Find a niche selling information products

If you’re just starting an online business consider selling information products. To do this you need to find a niche that solves people’s problems, then offer solutions to those problems by creating, packaging and selling an ebook, online training classes and/or coaching courses.

Don’t make the mistake of selecting a product instead of a niche because there is a limit how much you can write about a product. Choose a niche you feel passionate about so you won’t run out of ideas.

For example if your niche was “camping” you could create a blog that offers ongoing tips about camping. Create your own product by writing an ebook titled “Everything you need to know about camping but were too afraid to ask.” As your blog readership increases it will expose more visitors to your ebook. You could then re-purpose your ebook into audio and video courses to expand your online business.

4. How to find buyers for your niche products

Instead of guessing what products your readers want, ask what products they want you to create by doing an online survey. Participate in online conversations on forums, blogs, newsletters plus build your own community through social networking sites such as Facebook and Twitter.

Once your discovered and tested your niche be sure to work on it every day to generate ongoing profits for years to come.
