My YouTube Subscribers Are Not Increasing And How To Fix It

Are you struggling to grow your YouTube channel? My YouTube subscribers’ not increasing…it seems like people have stopped subscribing.

What am I doing wrong?

These are just some of the questions that YouTube creators are struggling with when it comes to growing their channel.

In the video below , you’ll discover 10 ways to attract more subscribers from your channel and videos.

  1. Target the right audience.
If you create content for the wrong audience, they’re not going to watch your videos. One of the best ways to identify a target audience is to find the keywords that people are searching on in the search engines.

To do this, just enter your main keyword in the YouTube search box, and YouTube will give you a bunch of suggestions. These are all keyword phrases that people are entering under the search engines.

If you want to speed up this process, I highly recommend getting the free Chrome extension, TubeBuddy.
  2. Create content that people want to watch.
If you offer solutions to people’s problems, they’ll be more likely to subscribe to your channel. If you answer their burning questions, then they’ll also be more likely to subscribe to your channel. If you want to see the most popular questions that people are asking in your niche, go to answerthepublic.com. You just enter your main keyword, and it’ll spit out a bunch of questions. You can then create a bunch of videos that answer each of these questions.
  3. Create an engaging video.
The goal of your video is to keep people engaged all the way through your video. To do this, create a hook at the beginning like a question, followed by your main points, and ending with a strong call to action.

Your call to action could be to get them to watch another video that’s similar to the one they’ve just watched. You can also link to a playlist on the card or the end screen so they can binge watch successful videos in a row.

When you create your video, make sure you ask people to subscribe in the video and give them a strong reason to subscribe. Also, tell them to turn on the bell notifications, so they’d be notified whenever you upload a new video. You can also add subscribe graphics in the lower two-thirds of your video. As they’re watching the video, a subscribe graphic will pop up.
  4. Make your video searchable.
You want your video to be discovered in the search engines, don’t you? This all starts off with an attractive thumbnail so people can click on that thumbnail when they see it on the search engines. Make sure you create a professional thumbnail and a well-optimized title. When people see a great thumbnail and a title that aligns itself with the thumbnail, they’ll be more inclined to watch your video.

Make sure you also optimize your description and your tags so your video will be discoverable in the search engines.

If your video gets ranked on the first page of YouTube and or Google, then you’ll get a lot more subscribers. Click here to watch my video series on how you can rank your videos on the search engines.
  5. Provide viewers multiple opportunities to subscribe.
As mentioned previously, you can ask viewers to subscribe in the actual video, and give them a strong reason to subscribe.

Make sure you also add the, “Subscribe” element in your end screen so the subscribe button pops up at a new video. Create a custom subscribe link and add it in the description of your video. Click here to watch my video on how you can create a custom subscribe link.

Another thing you can do is put a comment at the top of your comments that ask people to subscribe. You can also add your custom subscribe link in this place. Now when people go to comment on your video, they’ll see that subscribe link at the top of the comments.

Alternatively, you can just link to another video or playlist that gets your viewers to dive deeper into your content so they’ll be more inclined to subscribe.

Add a subscribe watermark to your bottom right of all the videos across your channel. Click here to watch the video on how to create a subscribe watermark.

The “About” page is another great way to get people to subscribe. A lot of people visit the “About” page of a channel to find out what the channel is all about. Why not give them an opportunity to subscribe to your channel, after they’re finished reading your description. You can also add a subscribe link to your channel banner so when people visit your channel homepage and see your channel banner, they’ll have an opportunity to subscribe.
  6. Correctly structure your channel homepage.
Your channel homepage is like the front page of a website. When people first visit your channel homepage, you want to give them a good experience. Therefore, make sure you give them a good experience by creating a professional channel banner, a channel trailer, and add sections containing playlists to the rest of your channel homepage.

Keep your channel trailer short, and be sure to mention all the benefits of subscribing to your channel. When the channel trailer finishes, a button will pop up asking people to subscribe.

When you add a playlist to your channel homepage, it gives the first-time viewers an opportunity to dive deeper into your content, and they’ll be more inclined to subscribe to your channel. Just make sure that you optimize your title and description of each playlist because it will appear on the channel homepage. The more value you give to first time viewers when they visit your channel homepage, the more likely they’ll subscribe to your channel.
  7. Create a video series instead of a single video.
When you’re planning out your content, think about a series of videos based upon a topic or a particular theme. Since watch time is one of the main ranking factors on YouTube, your video will be promoted in the search engines. When you create your first video in the series, make sure you place all the other videos in a playlist, and then link to them in the cards and the end screens. When you do this, people will binge watch your videos, which means they’ll stay longer on the YouTube platform, and then YouTube will promote your video in the search engines.
  8. Engage with the viewers on the comments.
Since YouTube is a social media platform, make sure you’re social by replying to the comments. If you don’t reply to the comments, then your viewers will less incline to subscribe to your channel. The more viewers you engage with in the comments, the more likely they will subscribe to your channel. Instead of just giving a brief reply like, “Thank you”, you can engage in a full conversation, which will motivate the viewer to subscribe.
  9. Identify the videos which are getting the most subscribers.
When you know which videos attracted the most subscribers, create more of those types of videos.
  10. Increase upload frequency.
The more videos you upload, the more opportunities you have for people to subscribe. Perhaps you’re only publishing one video a week. If you’re only uploading once a week, try uploading twice a week. If you don’t have the time to film and edit a regular video, add a live stream. It will give you a chance to engage with your viewers and give you a ton of watch time on your channel.

    BONUS TIP
Absolutely don’t ask sub for sub. I get so many people on the comments asking to subscribe to their channel because they’re subscribed to my channel. However, it’s against YouTube’s Terms of Service, and will only negatively affect your channel.

Let me ask you a question….
